d) ... further you have german SIPGATE and many many more ... (SE HERE)

OK - now lets talk IP-telefone.

1) PC-2-PC

(you will call your friend on from your PC on his PC)

Welcome to SKYPE

Guess this is the best and most easy VOIP-program right now. But you should have Windows 2000 or XP to run it. Some got it working on 95/98 but ... not me.

Download is 7 MB right now, but you get a encrypted Internettelephone with passes thru NAT easy.

This is PICOPHONE - only 60 kb!

It is quit good, and very easy to use. You can call your friend by name if you REGISTER (free)

If you have a private network (NAT) and want to get incomming, calls it can give you some trouble to set up! You need to open and forwarding UDP-port 11676 (or any other). But your friends have to call your by [IP-adress]:[port] because calling your NAME will surely not work! (I tried)

This is X-Lite - the new *star* in VOIP

This is a SIP-PHONE from X-ten with is much used since SIP is kind of the new standard in VOIP. This program works good even behind a NAT and there are many services like FreeWorldDailup and sipgate.de who are using it for their services.

If you have a FreeWorldDailup account you can even try the free Sip-phone from eyeP Media with looks nice too.

This is SpeekFreely

My first experience in VOIP-software, and where I meet many nice people! It is kind of discontinued now cause most people use SKYPE now. Use: vchat.mine.nu as the Server (in options) to see who is online!

If you want to see your party look at: www.ivisit.com

IT`s great fun since you can talk and see people online. But mostly VOICE is not allowed in the rooms. Perhaps if your only 2 it`s OK, but than you can use MSN-Messenger too.

2) PC-2-PHONE (...you have to pay for that)

(use your PC as a telephone at cheap rates)

http:// www.mywebcalls.com

This is the cheapest now and the one I use! Halv price compared to the others! Quality is OKay. Most european countrys are only 2.4 cent / 16 øre!!!

Thankx if you referrel to me when signup ... my ID:220429

http:// www.dialpad.com

... is my second choice. Cause it offers the best rates and is troublefree to install. Can`t beat local calls in price, but on international calls it`s great. My wife call Japan for 5.5 cent/0,40 NOK. Most european countrys are only 3.9 cent / 30 øre!!!

http://www.pc-telephone.com

... charges in EURO and calls are routed from the UK. Good rates, and superb program.

You can even record your calls, make PC-2-PC calls and send FAX. Call pctt.net# before signup to be sure it works - your PC-port 9084 must be open!

3) CALLINGCARDS - perhaps the cheapes way

http://www.telefonkort.net/

Unbeatable rates from any local phone - up to 8 hours calling for 100 NOK.

Used from a public payphone you will be charge for a local call per minute!

4) CALLBACK

Was the big moneysaver in the 80`and 90` while the local telecom still had its monopoly. Was great for longdistance and mobil calls. I still used it in 2003 when I didn`t have Internet.

You "ping" a number in the USA and hang up. You recive a call with an US dailtone immediately - and can call to anywhere in the world at USA-rates about 0,18 - 0,22 USD /min.

May be still usefull when using a mobilephone.

Check out www.kvtv.no or www.americom.com for more info. (I used Boomerang)

5) MOBILTELEFON-ABO in NORWAY

Time changes! What is the cheapest PERPAID-set you can get? Well there are so many choices, but the most easy is to get to a kiosk like 7Eleven or Narvesen or REMA1000 and but a SENSE -"Startset/Kontantkort" for less them 150 NOK. Rates are 2.50 NKr/min to every fixed/mobil in Norway.

It`s great if you mostly receive call - and perfect if you are on holliday in Norway.

(Remember - with a forreinger GSM-mobile YOUR will be charge for all INCOMMING calls too!

Next step is perhaps the Privat-subscription from CHESS (only charges 9 kr/mnd).

If you are a professional mobile-user you surely have lots of money - I don`t care
